Contemporary Kintsugi Workshop September 28, 1-3pm
The Well Studio, 2111 Main St. #27
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese method of restoring broken ceramics with gold – highlighting the restoration in stead of hiding it, celebrating the beauty of imperfection and impermanence.
In this hands-on workshop each person will create your own Kintugi piece. This contemporary method is both food safe and can be done at home. All materials, coffee and tea will be provided (including a small broken dish to practice on). Cost is $55 per person for this two hour hands-on class ($100 for a pair). Location is in the Well Studios at the City Centre Artist Lodge at Main and 6th, in the heart of Mount Pleasant. Lots of free parking, and close to good transit. Please email me to sign up for this workshop.

Wild Clay Workshop
Digging deep into ancient pottery techniques using locally hand foraged clay
Join me to learn how to make pottery in the most ancient methods. Connect with this land with respect and reciprocity. In this workshop you will learn how I find usable clays in “the wild’, and how to forage ethically and respectfully. I will show you how I process the clays into a usable form with simple everyday tools you probably already own. We will make small vessels and fire (bake) the pots in a pit fire.
October 3rd and 10th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and October 17th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm
$290
Class limited to 5 participants
